Mission Statement

The Labour Party is a democratic, socialist party which supports the rights and aspirations of the many against the few. The BaNES Labour Group is on the side of those in our communities who need support and help, particularly children, elderly people, the less well-off and those with mental or physical disabilities. We want to see services for these people expanded rather than contracted, and prioritised when a choice has to be made. We want our Council to achieve higher standards in education, waste recycling, collection and disposal, care of the elderly and vulnerable, public transport, and health. We know that to achieve this, we need an effective, committed and well-rewarded workforce and we will continue to support our staff.
